Job summary

The University of Sheffield's SITraN invites applications for a Research Associate to join a translational neuroscience project focusing on extracellular vesicles as biomarkers of neurodegeneration. You will design experiments, analyse data and contribute to manuscripts, reporting to the project PIs in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team.

You will work under Professors Pamela Shaw and Heather Mortiboys, with opportunities to present findings internationally and collaborate with industrial

Qualifications

A PhD (or near completion) in molecular or cellular biology, or neuroscience.
Experience of genetic, molecular and cellular laboratory work.
Experience with human ECVs in neuroscience.
Experience with in vitro mammalian cell-based assays.
IT skills including statistics and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Design, set up and run experiments for the project.
Demonstrate competence in molecular and cellular biology techniques.
Isolate and characterise from cellular models and human biosamples.
Keep accurate scientific records and prepare reports.
