Zusammenfassung

The University of Sheffield is seeking a Research Assistant to join the N8 Policing Research Project in the School of Law. The role is part-time (hybrid) and fixed-term, supporting analysis of NPCC-held data on post-custody suicides and related public records.

You will collect and analyse information from Coroner’s Inquests, verdicts, and PFD reports, attend meetings, and contribute to outputs. The project offers development opportunities and a supportive academic environment.

Qualifikationen

• A good honours degree in a relevant social science.
• A good Master’s degree in a relevant social science.
• A good PhD in a relevant social science (desirable).
• Experience and knowledge of academic research on policing is desirable.

Aufgaben

• Collect qualitative and quantitative data for all 426 NPCC-held cases.
• Collect in-depth qualitative data for a subset of 20 cases.
• Liaise with the research team and external stakeholders.
• Attend meetings and contribute to research outputs as a co-author when appropriate.
• Support dissemination of the research at events and conferences.
