An exciting opportunity has arisen for a NOTA (National Organisation for the Treatment of Abuse) funded Research Assistant to join the National Forensic Camhs (FCAMHS) network on a fixed-term (8 months) basis, working one day per week to explore Harmful Sexual Behaviour provisions across England for children and young people.
The role involves data collection, literature review, and analysis to support service evaluation activities. The post holder will contribute to improving health outcomes and wellbeing for children and young people in collaboration with NHS England Health and Justice and NHS England Specialised Commissioning.
Please note: Applicants will need to pay for their DBS check, with costs deducted from salary after appointment. The DBS application costs are £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced). The cost of enrolling in the DBS Update Service is an additional £16 per year.
The National FCAMHS Network Harmful Sexual Behaviour Working Group aims to address gaps in provision for young people with Harmful Sexual Behaviour through an evaluation of available services across England, focusing on service configuration, capacity, and demand, to improve access and outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have experience in research and service evaluation within health, justice, or social care settings, with a strong understanding of mixed methods research, data analysis, and statistical software such as SPSS. Excellent communication skills, a good understanding of global health needs of children and young people, and the ability to collaborate with diverse partner agencies are essential.
This is a remote working position, with limited travel for training and access to equipment provided by Nottinghamshire NHS Trust.
