Job description

Imagine if the work you did today could impact how mental health care is delivered tomorrow. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research and Development (R&D) Team at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an excellent development opportunity for a motivated and hardworking individual to be part of our research team and expand their knowledge of practice by supporting the delivery of research studies within the trust. The portfolio of studies makes this role both challenging and rewarding for the right candidate.

As a staff member within the Trust, you will understand the clinical priorities and team structures, using this knowledge and skills to engage with service users about participation in research. Additionally, you will have the chance to develop your research skills and knowledge in line with our strategic goal to build research capacity in our workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Carry out planned care required by the clinical trials protocol for patients and volunteers without direct supervision.
  2. Screen and recruit participants to clinical studies, including randomised trials and other high-quality studies, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Support patients in making informed decisions about research participation.
  4. Ensure informed consent is obtained from all research participants.
  5. Maintain all data and case report forms in accordance with NHS research regulations.
  6. Report protocol deviations and implement necessary changes.
  7. Support studies requiring additional recruitment support identified by the R&D team.
  8. Assist with the Bethlem Virtual Reality Cave as part of the Research and Delivery Team.
