Research and Development Engineer - Gloucestershire

Research and Development Engineer - Gloucestershire - £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Due to continued growth a Gloucestershire manufacturer has an opportunity for an ambitious engineer to take a lead role in the development of new products. This is a new position which would suit a graduate with experience in design, development and manufacturing or a time served engineer with relevant experience.

Duties

• Research new product ideas, produce prototypes, designs, instructions and bills of materials
• Identify improvements to manufacturing processes
• Provide support and training for manufacturing operatives
• Work closely with purchasing, manufacturing, maintenance and quality teams

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Preferably educated to Degree level in mechanical engineering, manufacturing or similar, although applicants with relevant experience also considered
• AutoCAD experience (preferably Autodesk Inventor)
• Experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Able to use CNC and manual machinery including milling, riveting, drilling
• Familiar with various manufacturing and assembly processes
• Good understanding of lean manufacturing
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
