Job description
Overview

This post is a part-time 22.5 hours per week fixed term/secondment opportunity for 12 months with R&D. This is an exciting secondment opportunity for a skilled administrator to join the expanding research and development (R&D) team in Peterborough.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the R&D department, primarily based at the Cavell Centre (Peterborough). This will include being the first point of contact for the R&D team and will involve duties such as meeting and greeting research study participants and visitors, receiving initial enquiries and directing telephone calls.
  • Maintain diaries and arranging meetings, taking formal minutes and keeping appropriate records on up-to-date templates.
  • Provide copy/audio typing, word processing, photocopying, desktop publishing, arranging meetings, and supporting research delivery staff during visits by greeting participants and ensuring refreshments are provided.
  • Support administrative unit needs, i.e., printing labels, preparing necessary general documentation.
  • Receive and process incoming correspondence and telephone calls ensuring these are dealt with appropriately either by providing a suitable response or by redirecting to a member of the team.
  • Deal with outgoing mail in a timely manner.
  • Maintain adequate stationery stocks and ensure all office equipment meets the needs of the user.
  • Manage an appointments diary for meetings and make appropriate arrangements as necessary, e.g. booking rooms, organising refreshments, travel arrangements, accommodation etc.
  • Assist team members with the organisation of travel arrangements for participants.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of research study participant’s expense claim forms.
  • Book transport for research participants.
