Research Analyst

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

12 month secondment opportunity available upon current line management approval

Temporary position for 12 months

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Analyst to join a small, dynamic team with the opportunity to make a difference to a large and exciting organisation. This role will sit within the Strategy and Sustainability directorate to support a range of strategy projects and cross-organisational research. While working closely with colleagues in our environmental and social sustainability teams (as one of the key areas of strategy that the team work on), this role will report directly into the Group Director - Strategy and Sustainability to support on a wide range of analysis and strategy implementation work across the organisation. You’ll build a network of stakeholders to help you to do this.

This role will suit someone who is comfortable taking a question and independently diving into a range of internal and external sources to come up with an answer. Curiosity, enthusiasm and thoroughness are the key attributes needed to be successful in the role. Therefore we welcome applications from those currently working as analysts and are also happy to consider recent graduates from subjects with either a strong research discipline or connection to business strategy.

The team is based in Worcester with a balance of home and office working; we would welcome a conversation at interview about what this looks like for you.

As this is a new role to the team, it is initially contracted for a 12 month duration, with a view that a permanent position will be needed once the role is established.

The role of Research Analyst will include:

  • Researching a wide range of topics that will form strategic insight for the Group. This may include, for example, understanding new Government legislation or policy positions and best practice from a range of industries on organisational strategy
  • Reviewing relevant academic research
  • Reviewing data from within Sanctuary to identify and analyse trends, as well as supporting with the implementation of key strategy projects
  • Turning research findings into easy to understand, high quality reports with the most pertinent points clearly extracted
  • Maintaining a cross-organisational network of key contacts for both information gathering and sharing

Skills and experiences:

  • Effective research skills and the ability to synthesise large quantities of information into relevant and understandable briefings
  • Experience of undertaking projects with strong project management skills
  • A keen eye for detail is vital for success in this role, allowing you to accurately record information and collate quality statistical data
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Good interpersonal, organisation and time management skills are essential
