Job description

Overview

The Requirements Engineer provides support to the Lead Engineer for a major cloud-based ERP system. The Requirements Engineer performs engineering and management of the portfolio requirements, including the Capability Production Document (CPD), System Specification, Functional Requirements Design Specification (FRDS), Technical Functional Script (TFS), and other technical specification documents. They work with requirements owners, user communities, system integrator contractor, and government stakeholders to manage changes and additions to the Navy ERP requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform the engineering and management of the portfolio requirements, including the Capability Production Document (CPD), System Specification, Functional Requirements Design Specification (FRDS), Technical Functional Script (TFS), and other technical specification documents.

  • Collaborate with requirements owners, user communities, system integrator contractor, and government stakeholders to manage changes and additions to the Navy ERP requirements.
  • Perform requirements verification, validation, and acceptance.
  • Manage and support requirements traceability for each project and the Navy ERP system overall throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Participate with the Government program engineering teams during Systems Engineering (SE) Working Integrated Project Team (WIPT) and Working Group meetings, generating meeting minutes as required.
  • Assist the Lead Engineer and Requirements Management Lead in preparing for reviews, presentations, and assessments.
  • Track and manage action items to meet deadlines and project goals.
  • Review program, project, or initiative documentation for technical compliance with policies, requirements, standards, and processes.
  • Identify and evaluate program technical risks generated by requirements updates and additions.
  • Plan and conduct reviews, assess contract status, and recommend resolution of technical issues.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria aligned with agile methodologies.
  • Prepare detailed systems engineering documentation including analyses, white papers, and presentations.
  • Maintain requirements artifacts using tools like Jama Connect, Jira, and assist in workflow development and implementation.

Familiarity with Agile development frameworks (SAFe, Scrum/Kanban) and requirements repository tools/integration is preferred.

Qualifications

The candidate MUST have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.

  • Ability to perform effectively both individually and as part of a team.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to deliver with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in Atlassian Products: Jama Connect, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in Cameo Model-Based System Engineering.
  • Good time management skills and punctuality for meetings.
  • Limited to no travel anticipated.
Pay Range

$130,000 - $140,000
