A leading media organization is seeking a passionate Reporter to produce engaging digital news content in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of media law and demonstrate exceptional writing and storytelling skills. This role involves sourcing and reporting on news stories, requiring flexibility in working hours including evenings and weekends. Reporter – GlasgowLive (Fixed term contract)

Fixed term contract for 10 months starting ASAP, based from Glasgow Hub.

About the role

• Produce engaging digital news content and live coverage of breaking news.
• Source, write and publish exclusive off‑diary stories.
• Build contacts within industry and underserved communities.
• Conduct interviews, take photographs and film footage while reporting on the ground.
• Work varied shifts on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends, requiring flexibility.

Who we’re looking for

• Passionate journalist with an NCTJ or equivalent qualification (or time‑served experience).
• Excellent knowledge of media law.
• First‑class writer with strong storytelling techniques.
• Proven experience sourcing, writing and publishing digital news content.
• Expert knowledge of Glasgow and the ability to tell stories relevant to a diverse audience.
• Superb social media skills and ability to use platforms to engage audiences.
