TMT Finance, the highly respected business intelligence provider for the telecom, digital infrastructure and services sector, is looking for a Reporter to join its expanding editorial team based in London.

The reporter will cover real-time M&A and financing deals in the Americas digital infrastructure and telecoms market. They will be part of the Americas team, focused on one of five weekly news titles providing real-time, market-leading M&A and financing intelligence on TMT and digital infrastructure since 2009.

While the role is based in London, the successful applicant will be willing to travel to the US for meetings and industry events where required. There could be a future opportunity to relocate to New York for the right candidate.

TMT Finance’s editorial team develops trusted relationships with senior leaders and dealmakers based on off-the-record conversations and deep sector insight and regularly breaks news on large, complex market-defining deals. Financial analysis and data is provided in partnership with our in-house research team.

The successful candidate will build an outstanding book of contacts to consistently break exclusives deal scoops, developing deep sector expertise and a nose for digging out the latest M&A targets and upcoming deals in the sector. For the right candidate there are opportunities for fast progression within the company.

Excellent reporting skills, a knack for building professional relationships with senior contacts, and proven experience of financial or business reporting are all critical. Digital infrastructure or telecoms sector experience is not essential, with guidance and training provided by the team. Experience covering M&A, ECM, senior, high yield or distressed debt markets, project financing or equity capital markets are beneficial but not essential.

Personally break 5 exclusive off diary news items each week
Grow a world class book of senior level contacts & in-depth knowledge of your beat
Consistently beat the world’s leading news organisations for exclusive news
Develop the content to support further growth of the title subscriber base
Proof and edit copy from other team members
Source and write news articles from secondary sources
Collaborate with and be part of a team of exceptionally talented reporters and editors
Work closely with our Research, Sales, Marketing and Event teams
Attend in-person meetings and conferences in the UK and abroad as required

What we are looking for

At least 2 years of experience reporting on proprietary financial or business news
Desire to further develop a career in M&A and financial reporting
Passion to produce outstanding business content and analysis
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships with senior contacts
Proficient written and spoken English
Experience in the Digital Infra/Telecoms sector and/or M&A, ECM or DCM reporting beneficial
