Goodman Masson are currently working with a social housing organisation in Essex to recruit for an interim Repairs Surveyor.

Pay Rate: £35 - £40 per hour Umbrella

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Repairs Surveyor to join our dynamic housing repairs team. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our housing stock safe, well‑maintained, and delivering excellent outcomes for our customers. You'll carry out detailed property surveys, manage complex repairs, and oversee projects from instruction to completion, all while ensuring quality, compliance, and value for money.

What You'll Do:
  • Conduct detailed property surveys, diagnosing complex repair issues and producing comprehensive reports.
  • Manage delivery of repair works and complex cases, supervising contractors and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Inspect completed works to ensure quality standards and value for money.
  • Review contractor quotations and variations against contract requirements.
  • Monitor performance, manage KPIs, and report on service outcomes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues, resolving challenging repair issues collaboratively.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and complaints, ensuring exceptional service at all times.
  • Stay curious and bring forward ideas to improve processes and the customer experience.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in surveying within a social housing or residential property environment.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance, diagnostic techniques, and damp/mould management.
  • Project management experience, including procurement, delivery, and supervision.
  • Familiarity with health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Proven commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant technical qualification, e.g., HND in surveying or equivalent industry experience.
  • Degree in a surveying‑related subject desirable.
