About the Role

South Derbyshire District Council is investing in its Housing Service to provide quality homes and services for tenants and residents. We seek a committed, enthusiastic, and proactive individual to develop and improve our services in response to changing customer needs and regulatory frameworks.

The successful candidate will support the Operational Delivery Manager in managing repairs, minor planned and cyclical works, including void properties. This role involves line management of the direct labour organisation (DLO) for day-to-day repairs and void work, ensuring efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. Managing contractors to ensure value for money and high resident satisfaction is also key.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead a team of supervisors and trades to ensure repairs are completed promptly and correctly the first time.
2. Drive quality, performance, and customer satisfaction through effective operative and contractor management.
3. Manage budgets proactively and ensure efficient resource utilization.
4. Oversee in-house repairs team and support contractors for day-to-day works and repairs to empty properties.
