Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Operative to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.

This position will be responsible for R&M across our South London network, with occasional travel to North London when required.

  • Base location: South West London – Hogsmill - Kingston. (KT1 3BW)
  • Working pattern: 45 hours a week on a shift pattern, including standby rota with additional pay.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
What you’ll be doing as an R&M Operative

You will ensure all work is completed to safety and quality standards as directed by the R&M Technician.

What you should bring to the role
  • Experience or training in manual handling environments.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • IT literacy and computer skills.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills for repairs.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical issues simply.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and openness to change.
  • Self-motivation and confidence in task completion.
  • Preferred: Street works qualification (NRSWA), EUSR Water Hygiene card, Service Avoidance L2, First aid qualification (not essential).
