Job summary

Certain Advantage is seeking a Repair Bay Working Supervisor for night shifts at our Cheshire site. You will join a small, experienced team and oversee routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs and trailers.

The role requires diagnosing faults, applying effective solutions, and ensuring safety checks meet company and legal standards. The ideal candidate has HGV/vehicle repair knowledge, strong diagnostic skills, and an understanding of electrical systems and wiring diagrams.

Repair Bay Working Supervisor - nights

Certain Advantage is hiring for a Repair Bay Working Supervisor based in the Cheshire area.

This role is on a temp-to-perm basis and is site-based.

The Role

This role is for a Repair Bay Working Supervisor —someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You'll be results-oriented and driven to succeed.

You’ll be working in a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:

• Routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Safety checks in line with company and legal requirements.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and apply effective solutions.

The Individual

We're looking for people who can show:

• HGV Technician / Mechanic (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is desirable).
• Commercial vehicle repair & maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of HGV systems, including hydraulics, brakes and suspension.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and able to interpret wiring diagrams.
• A current HGV Licence (Class 1 or 2) is desirable but not essential.
