Job summary

Crown Lift Trucks Ltd is seeking a Rental Manager to lead the Rental Department, ensuring safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction while delivering commercial value.

You will manage a team, oversee rental fleet administration, contracts, invoicing and liaison with Sales, Service and Parts to keep trucks available.

This role combines planning, budgeting and compliance with LOLER and PUWER in a hands-on, frontline environment.

Qualifications

• Strong administrative, organisational and customer skills.
• Good Microsoft Office skills with intermediate use of Excel (pivot tables and manipulation of large quantities of data), knowledge of Outlook.
• Excellent telephone manner to deal with customer queries and liaise with the sales team.
• Proven experience within transportation, rental and logistics is essential.
• Ability to build relationships and liaise effectively with customers internal (Region Service Managers, Sales, Service, Finance) and external.
• Knowledge of LOLER regulations.

Responsibilities

• Raise contracts and ensure signed before delivery and invoicing in a timely manner.
• Log and monitor all rental enquiries proactively.
• Manage customer queries related to invoicing and current/terminated agreements.
• Handle enquiries related to customers and sales leads with timely responses.
• Accurately select equipment and request workshop jobs to meet timescales.
• Manage regional transport for delivery and collection of equipment.
• Ensure timely inspection of returned equipment and follow up on damage estimates.
• Renew or terminate short-term contracts to enable further rentals and track asset status.
• Provide rolling 3-month rental forecasts and contribute to year-end stock audit.
• Agree rental rates with sales and direct to customers.
