This is an excellent opportunity for a Rent & Service Charge Accountant to join a social housing organisation in London. The role requires expertise in annual rent setting, legislation's, regulations, policies & best practice to manage rent accounting effectively.

Description

• Manage rent accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Reconcile rent accounts and investigate any discrepancies effectively.
• Utilise Orchard system to monitor monthly and weekly debit runs
• Prepare and submit rent reports to senior management in a timely manner.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting related to rent income and expenditure.
• Assist with the compilation of annual service charge and sinking fund.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve tenant account queries.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and organisational policies.
• Support the Finance team with ad hoc duties as required.

Profile

A successful Rent Accountant should have:

• Relevant qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA
• Proficiency in Orchard, SUN Accounts, and Vision Excel.
• Experience in designing and implementing financial controls.
• Strong technical knowledge of rent accounting principles within the social housing sector.
• A track record of working effectively within a finance team.
• Social housing rent and service charge accounting management, including write-offs
• Attention to detail and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
