Job summary

The Hyde Group is seeking an Income Services Officer in Chichester on a 18-hour per week part-time basis. The role focuses on preventing rent arrears and helping customers sustain their homes through practical advice and case management.

Key duties include managing arrears, taking ownership of accounts, and supporting customers with money management and access to welfare benefits. Hybrid working is available, with a strong focus on safeguarding and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in income services, rent arrears or customer accounts.
• Understanding housing income and affordability assessments.
• Experience managing customer accounts and complex casework.
• Knowledge of legal processes relating to rent arrears (or willingness to learn).
• Strong communication skills for sensitive conversations.

Responsibilities

• Manage rent arrears and debts across tenure types, including current and former customers.
• Take ownership of customer accounts to prevent arrears and reduce debt.
• Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service via phone and digital channels.
• Support customers with money management, rent prioritisation and welfare benefits access.
• Process payments, refunds and account requests per policies.
