Public Sector is seeking a Rent and Service Charge Specialist for an interim six-month assignment with a housing association. The role is largely remote and requires hands-on expertise in rent and service charge legislation, budgets, and processes.

You will lead the rent and service charge function, drive improvements, manage forecasts versus actuals, and engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong Excel, analytical skills, and clear communication are essential to deliver accurate recharges and

Rent and Service Charge Specialist – Interim | 6 Months

I am working with a well-established housing association committed to providing affordable, good-quality homes to its local community. They are looking for an experienced Rent and Service Charge Specialist for an initial six-month assignment.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge of rent and service charge legislation, alongside the ability to lead the function, strengthen processes and drive improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the rent and service charge function, ensuring effective day-to-day operations.

• Managing rent and service charge budgets, rent convergence and ensuring costs are appropriately recharged.

• Improving the estimates versus actuals process and reviewing existing work flows to identify efficiencies.

• Working with a range of stakeholders to strengthen processes, controls and overall service delivery.

Requirements:

• A social housing background, with experience across both rents and service charges.

• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and the confidence to act as the key point of contact for both areas.

• Strong Excel and analytical skills, with experience improving processes and controls.

• Confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

The role offers largely remote working, a competitive day rate and Outside IR35 engagement.
