Job summary

LTM Recruitment Specialists Ltd is assisting a client expanding across the UK with a Quantity Surveyor role focused on solar, BESS and related civil works. You will manage commercial and financial aspects from award to final account.

The ideal candidate has contractor-side QS experience, strong contract knowledge, and the ability to forecast costs, negotiate variations and control budgets across multiple projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a contractor-side Quantity Surveyor role.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
• Experience procuring subcontract packages, preparing subcontract orders and assessing subcontractor applications.
• Ability to manage project budgets, track costs and produce reliable financial forecasts.
• Experience identifying, pricing and negotiating variations.
• Confident negotiation skills with clients, developers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Strong numerical skills, attention to detail and proficiency in Excel and relevant commercial software.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with project delivery teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet contractual deadlines and travel nationally.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate contracts with clients and developers.
• Prepare and submit payment applications with accurate valuations.
• Monitor payments, retention and cash flow with clients.
• Obtain and compare subcontractor quotations, negotiate prices and terms, and issue subcontract orders.
• Assess subcontractor payment applications against completed works and terms.
• Review subcontractor variations and agree final accounts.
• Establish budgets and track labour, materials, plant and subcontract costs.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts and anticipated final costs.
• Identify and negotiate variations with proper records for cost recovery.
• Manage contractual notices, deadlines and records for claims.
• Coordinate with site teams to monitor progress and risks.
• Support tender pricing for M&E and civil packages.
• Identify opportunities for procurement savings and value engineering.
• Negotiate client final accounts and release retention.
