Job Description:
Leap29 is recruiting two skilled engineers with excellent design experience to join our client's growing team in Liverpool:
- Solar PV Specialist – Focused on optimizing yield and enhancing system performance.
- Generalist Renewable Energy Engineer – Responsible for overseeing tender processes, acting as Owner’s Engineer (OE), conducting Due Diligence (DD), and supporting Lender’s Technical Advisor (LTA) activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technical designs from concept to detailed engineering using industry-standard software, aligned with project development phases.
- Optimize system layouts and energy yields through comprehensive constraint analysis.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry codes, regulations, and best practices, incorporating input from cross-functional teams.
- Prepare pre-construction and post-construction documentation.
- Lead or support technical due diligence, liaising with Lenders’ Technical Advisors (LTAs).
- Participate in preparing and evaluating tenders and RFQs.
- Define, track, and review contract technical requirements (e.g., PAC process), ensuring compliance and resolving technical issues.
- Conduct site inspections to verify installations and tests align with designs, procedures, and standards.
- Manage grid connection applications and approvals.
- Support during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Assess pre-construction technical surveys.
- Maintain relationships with Owners' Engineers and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in delivering utility-scale solar power projects.
- Proficiency in solar PV design tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, or PVCase.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on system optimization.
