Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualified counsellor with registration/accreditation in a recognised body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, BABCP).
• Post-qualification clinical practice in counselling and experience in physical health settings is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary health-care team and provide risk-based care.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological assessment and counselling to renal patients.
• Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions within competencies.
• Support patients adjusting to chronic illness and treatment burden.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
• Contribute to psychologically informed care across renal services.
• Offer consultation to healthcare professionals on psychological aspects of patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
• Participate in service development, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
