Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Online Vehicle Diagnostic Technician to join our office-based automotive technical support team. You will diagnose complex faults remotely, program modules and interpret diagnostic data to guide repairs.

This full-time role offers Monday–Friday hours, a salary up to £45,000, 30 days holiday with bank holidays, and opportunities for professional development in a modern office equipped with advanced diagnostic technology.

Qualifications

• Strong vehicle diagnostics and fault-finding experience.
• Excellent knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic software and equipment.
• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex vehicle faults remotely using specialist diagnostic systems
• Carry out module programming, coding and key programming
• Interpret diagnostic trouble codes, live data and technical information
• Provide technical support and repair guidance to customers and Vehicle Technicians
• Recommend corrective actions to support accurate first-time repairs
• Maintain accurate records of diagnostic procedures and outcomes
• Keep up to date with automotive diagnostic technology, software and repair procedures
