Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Design & Engineering Lead (Electrical) for the Data Centre Segment in the UK. This role reports to the EMEA Director of Engineering and leads design, development and implementation of electrical solutions across data centre projects.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in electrical design, strong leadership and stakeholder management, experience with power distribution and UPS, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit. Travel up to 30% across EMEA is expected, with remote UK work.

Qualifications

• Requires BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in electrical design in power distribution or related environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as Design Manager on data centre projects, leading electrical design from concept to construction support.
• Hands-on in electrical design, owning critical design aspects for mission critical facilities.
• Lead and coordinate electrical engineers and SMEs as part of a multidisciplinary design team.
• Manage design deliverables, resources, schedules, and quality across projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the DC Design & Engineering team.
• Develop and uphold electrical design quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, reports and specs, enabling peer reviews.
• Attend client, contractor and Eaton internal meetings as client-facing technical lead.
• Lead project teams through value engineering, optioneering and technical decision making stages.
• Participate in site visits to monitor installation and commissioning.
