Xcede is expanding its Forward Deployed Engineering team across Europe, hiring a UK-based Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with top-tier engineering groups building on our real-time voice and video infrastructure. You will tackle high-stakes problems at scale, collaborating closely with customer teams and product leadership to shape our roadmap.

The role offers remote work from the UK with travel as needed, requiring 4+ years of backend experience, strong Python skills, and expertise

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and able to pick up new stacks quickly.
• Experience building and operating APIs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams building real-time AI infrastructure.
• Own ambiguous, high-stakes technical problems end-to-end.
• Debug and ship fixes in production handling billions of interactions.
• Serve as the link between customer teams and our product roadmap.
• Operate with autonomy in a fast-paced, low-process environment.
