Job summary

X4 Group is seeking a senior Embedded Engineer for a long-term remote Europe contract focused on U-Boot porting and trusted firmware bootloaders for high-end Cortex-A MPU platforms.

You will work on porting U-Boot to a new SoC, engage in TF-A bootloader development, contribute upstream, and support Linux BSPs, Device Tree, and embedded Linux work. This role is fully remote across Europe.

Qualifications

• Strong embedded C and low-level development.
• Experience porting U-Boot to new SoCs.
• Bootloader development for Cortex-A/MPU architectures.
• Open-source upstream involvement is a plus.
• Linux BSPs, Device Tree and embedded Linux familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Porting and bringing up U-Boot on a new SoC from early hardware bring-up.
• U-Boot and/or ARM TF-A bootloader development (BL2/BL3) on Cortex-A
• Contributing changes upstream through open-source processes
• Supporting the platform with BSP, Device Tree and embedded Linux work
