X4 Technology is seeking a senior Embedded Engineer for a fully remote U-Boot porting role across Europe. You will work on bootloaders and trusted firmware for high-end Cortex-A MPUs, with long-term contract potential and a market-aligned day rate.

The role focuses on low-level firmware and hardware bring-up, with open-source upstream contributions. You will port U-Boot and TF-A, work on BSPs, Device Tree, and embedded Linux, collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on U-Boot porting on a new SoC.
• Experience with Cortex-A/MPU boot chains.
• Familiar with open-source upstream processes.

Responsibilities

• Port and bring up U-Boot on new SoC across boot chain.
• Develop U-Boot/TF-A bootloaders (BL2/BL3) for Cortex-A MPU.
• Contribute upstream changes; support BSP and Device Tree.
• Engage in embedded Linux and Linux kernel debugging.
