Spotify is seeking a Staff Data Engineer for the Subscriptions User Understanding team, focused on building a scalable data platform to support analytics, experimentation, and product development for hundreds of millions of users.

You will define long‑term data strategy, influence multiple teams, and mentor engineers while driving data quality and governance across the ecosystem. This remote role supports the EMEA region.

Formación

• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale cloud-native data platforms.
• Strong background in data modeling, metadata management, and data quality practices.
• Proven ability to lead architectural decisions and influence multiple squads.

Responsabilidades

• Define and drive long-term data engineering strategy for the Subscriptions User Understanding domain.
• Design scalable batch and streaming data platforms for analytics, experimentation, ML, and subscriber experiences.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Platform teams to translate business challenges into durable data solutions.
• Lead architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices for data quality, governance, observability, and reliability.
• Design data models and platform architecture to support growth toward one billion users while balancing performance and cost.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of thoughtful engineering and knowledge sharing.
