Job summary

CPS Group (UK) Limited is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer to join a growing team delivering secure, technically complex projects in the public sector.

You will work in an Agile environment with strong Java expertise, influence architecture and deliver across the full software lifecycle. The role offers Primarily Remote work with regional offices and bi‑weekly visits to London, fully expensed.

Qualifications

• Strong Java experience across full stack development.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure in cloud deployments.
• Experience delivering in Agile environments.
• Consultancy experience would be advantageous but isn’t essential.
• Ability to mentor and lead technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Work within an Agile team across the full software lifecycle.
• Contribute to architecture, design and solution development.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Deploy applications in AWS and related cloud services.
• Collaborate with customers and wider technical teams.
• Take technical ownership and mentor others where appropriate.
• Support a range of open-source technologies and libraries.

CPS Group are supporting a leading IT Consultancy in the recruitment of multiple Senior Software Engineers to join a growing team delivering secure, technically complex projects across the public sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer with strong Java experience.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll work as part of an Agile team, contributing across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working across a range of open-source technologies and libraries
• Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab
• Deploying applications across AWS
• Contributing to architecture, technical design and solution development
• Working across the full software lifecycle, from requirements through to delivery and ongoing support
• Working collaboratively with customers and wider technical teams
• Taking technical ownership and mentoring or leading others where appropriate

Key Skills:

• Strong commercial experience with Java
• Experience working with AWS and/or Azure
• Strong understanding of software development best practices
• Experience working within Agile environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Previous consultancy experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.
