Job summary

Olo is seeking a Software Engineer to join BrandX on the Order Engineering group. This fully remote role is based in Northern Ireland and collaborates with engineers across the US and Europe.

You’ll pair with senior engineers, ship code daily, and use Claude Code as a standard tool in your workflow. You’ll own small-to-medium features end-to-end, write reliable code with tests, contribute to CI/CD, participate in reviews, and help push the capabilities of Claude Code and GitHub Copilot while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience, or a strong portfolio of shipped projects.
• Working knowledge of C# and .NET, and comfort reading code you didn't write.
• Some experience building web UIs. We use React and TypeScript, but any modern framework is a fine starting point.
• Comfortable with SQL and relational data. A lot of our work is understanding how data moves between systems.
• You understand the difference between unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and when each one earns its place.
• AI coding agents are your default way of working. You use tools like Claude Code daily, you can explain the fundamentals underneath what they generate, and you're excited about a team that expects you to push them further.
• You ask questions early, write things down, and are comfortable working with colleagues in other time zones.

Responsibilities

• Own small-to-medium features end to end, from understanding the requirement to shipping it, with senior engineers available when you need them.
• Write code that meets our standards, and participate in code reviews as both author and reviewer.
• Build reliable and maintainable software, with test coverage that matches the risk of the change.
• Contribute to the team’s delivery pipeline, including test coverage, CI, and deployment practices.
• Use Claude Code and GitHub Copilot as your default way of building, and help the team push what these tools can do.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, learning how our systems fit together along the way.
• Participate in team ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and retrospectives, sharing updates and feedback.
• Take part in learning activities, including game days and training sessions, to build familiarity with Olo’s tools and processes.
• Join the on-call rotation, with responsibilities that grow as you learn the team’s systems.
