Job summary

Computer Futures is seeking a hands-on Software Architect to shape a mission-critical Warehouse Control System (WCS) used in automated logistics environments. You will lead architecture across application, data, messaging, and deployment, and design complex features for real-time operations interfacing with PLCs, WMS, ERP, and robotics platforms.

This senior role also involves mentoring engineers, driving governance, and ensuring performance, security, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Software Architect or lead engineer.
• Strong expertise in C# / .NET and modern application development.
• Experience designing distributed systems and microservices.
• Background in system integration (APIs, messaging, event-driven).
• Exposure to PLCs, robotics, or real-time control environments is a plus.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve architecture across application, data, messaging, and deployment layers.
• Lead design of complex features and subsystems with architecture documentation (ADRs).
• Decide on persistence, messaging, caching, and integration patterns.
• Ensure performance, scalability, availability, and security targets.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues including concurrency and integrations.
• Own integration patterns with PLCs, WMS, ERP, and robotics platforms.
• Design robust messaging and API interfaces with clear contracts and recovery strategies.
• Provide client workshops, design reviews, FAT/SAT support, and go-live assistance.
• Contribute to architectural standards, governance, and tooling choices.
• Mentor engineers and promote high-quality engineering practices.
