Job summary

Plentific invites a Senior Backend Engineer to join a fully remote team across Europe. You will build and operate services powering repairs, quoting, invoicing, payments, contractor search, and fraud prevention with a Python/Django stack on AWS/Kubernetes.

You’ll work with product managers, frontend and QA to ship reliable software at pace. The role emphasizes AI-assisted development, high data integrity, and scalable architectures for complex workflows.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with Python and Django.
• Experience building production Django-based services on AWS/Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of API design, data modelling, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and data pipelines using Python, Django, FastAPI, and related tooling.
• Design service boundaries, data models, and API contracts for complex operations.
• Develop asynchronous workflows with Celery and Redis.
• Write and optimize SQL, evolve PostgreSQL schemas safely.
• Review, refactor, and ensure maintainable code for evolving product needs.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into designs.
• Ensure security, observability, and reliability across services.
