Job summary

NHS Scotland invites applications for a Post CCT Remote and Rural Anaesthesia Fellowship based at Western Isles Hospital, Stornoway. The post is a fixed-term 24-month training opportunity commencing October 2026, with a 40-hour week and a generous salary range.

The role focuses on developing anaesthesia skills for remote and rural settings, including paediatrics, obstetrics, regional anaesthesia and peri-operative management, with opportunities for managerial exposure and potential mainland

Qualifications

• NTN holders in Anaesthesia within 3 months of expected CCT date
• CCT holders in Anaesthesia who have been in regular practise in Anaesthesia within the last 24 months, and are on the Specialist Register (UK) for Anaesthesia
• Trained specialists from outside the UK who have gained entry to the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia
