Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Structures Examiner to perform roped access inspections across UK infrastructure, including rail and highways. The role emphasizes safe execution, reporting, and collaboration on diverse projects.

Applicants should hold IRATA and related certifications; willingness to travel and work occasional nights/weekends is required. The position offers remote work with nationwide travel and a strong focus on safety and professional development.

Qualifications

Current IRATA certification.
STE 04 certification (preferred).
PTS and CSCS cards (preferred).
Confined Space Entry certification (preferred).
SSSTS certification (preferred).
Experience in rail or highway inspections (bridges, culverts, retaining walls).
Experience in building inspections.
Level 3 qualification (A Level or equivalent).
Flexibility to travel and work nights/weekends as required.
Valid full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

Conduct structural inspections using roped access techniques in accordance with standards.
Lead the safe and efficient execution of inspections and surveys.
Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, including CAD drawings.
Ensure tasks are performed safely and within timelines.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and aim for zero accidents.
Verify equipment is properly maintained and safety-checked.
Support additional duties within role scope as needed.
