Job summary

Davies Group in Glasgow seeks an assistant solicitor to support the Property Risks and Coverage team. You will handle pre- and post-litigation property damage claims, liaise with clients and insurers, and draft court documents, while assisting partners on complex disputes.

You will manage a personal caseload, meet court deadlines, and contribute to settlements. The role offers home-working with the Glasgow office and a 35-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience handling pre and post-litigation damages claims.
• Experience in insurer-funded property damage work.
• Experience conducting court hearings up to and including proofs.
• Experience drafting court documents and understanding processes.
• Good telephone and communication skills across levels.

Responsibilities

• Run own caseload of pre and post-litigation property damage files, meet court timetables.
• Conduct court hearings and instruct experts as required.
• Instruct and work with Counsel and other professionals.
• Review quantum details and liaise with clients, insurers and third parties.
• Negotiate settlements and draft pleadings/court documents.
• Support other file handlers to manage workloads.
• Work within the Keoghs Shared Behaviour framework and maintain client service.
