Job summary

Parker Franklyn in Wakefield is seeking a desk-based Claims Handler to support a growing FCA-regulated loss assessing and property reinstatement business. You’ll be the engine room back at base, keeping claims moving and the team organised across the region.

With a 40-hour week and flexible remote working, the role offers a £28,000–£30,000 base salary, 30 days leave, statutory pension contributions, and a childcare salary sacrifice option as the business expands.

Qualifications

• Experience building insurance claims with insurers, loss adjusting firms or regulated loss assessing practices.
• Solid understanding of the UK insurance process and policy life cycle.
• IT-literate with attention to detail in a claims management system.
• Well organized, proactive, and supportive to a field-based team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the internal claims system: upload new instructions, keep documentation up to date.
• Diary and travel logistics for the field-based team, schedule meetings.
• Provide administrative support across the claims caseload ensuring accuracy.
• Raise and progress claims requiring low-touch site visits.
• Offer guidance on policy wording and claims procedures using own insurance experience.
• Ensure compliance documents are recorded and maintained.
• Support FCA compliance reporting and ad hoc projects as the business grows.
