Job summary

Shell is seeking a Principal Architect for Trading & Supply Data & Analytics in the United Kingdom. You will define and govern an integrated data ecosystem that unlocks data-powered outcomes, balancing innovation with governance and scalability across enterprise platforms.

You’ll lead architecture direction for the data platform, drive standards, and enable AI-ready data consumption, partnering with data, digital, and technology teams to accelerate business value.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Extensive IT experience, including senior architecture leadership roles.
• Experience across large-scale, complex, multi-domain technology environments.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide architecture transformation and strategic technology initiatives.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the trading business domain, commodity trading knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide architecture leadership aligning business strategy with enterprise architecture.
• Drive architecture direction across multiple domains, ensuring value, coherence, and risk management.
• Translate strategy into target architectures, roadmaps, and standards across data, applications, cloud and security.
• Lead cross-domain governance and decision making in executive forums.
• Promote reusable patterns and platforms to accelerate delivery and reduce technical debt.
