Job summary

The Rivers Trust is seeking a Philanthropy & Fundraising Assistant to steward donors and volunteers while developing funding opportunities. This remote-first role requires strong communication, data handling, and event coordination to support a growing river-health agenda across the UK and Ireland.

You will work with the Head of Philanthropy to craft donor communications, maintain records in CRM, and assist with campaigns, research, and budget monitoring, ensuring our supporters remain engaged

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Strong IT skills with MS Office and CRM experience.
• Experience with Canva or basic digital design is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct donor support: steward donors and funders, ensuring funding requirements are met.
• Stewardship planning: develop donor engagement plans and organise communications, events and connections.
• Maintain donor records, process gifts, and generate reports using CRM tools.
• Assist with philanthropy events and fundraising activities, both online and in-person.
• Collate research on prospective funders and help build funding propositions.
