Job summary

Escape is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join its Dundee team during a period of growth. The role covers direct and indirect materials, supplier management and cost improvement in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

You will source, negotiate and secure supply with local and global suppliers, manage procurement projects, and work closely with Supply Chain, Finance and Quality to deliver value and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Pharmaceutical, life sciences or regulated environments industry experience is essential for this role, along with a sound understanding of procurement within a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Proven procurement experience covering direct materials and supplier management.
• Experience sourcing and negotiating materials, ingredients, chemicals or packaging within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of GMP and FDA manufacturing regulations.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering cost savings and value improvements.
• Experience managing global suppliers and mitigating supply chain risks.
• The ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and work collaboratively across functions.
• A proactive, analytical approach with the confidence to take ownership and improve existing processes.
• A degree or CIPS qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activity across direct materials, indirect spend and services.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality and reliable supply.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with local and international suppliers.
• Drive cost savings, continuous improvement and best practice across procurement processes.
• Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve service and commercial terms.
• Identify and manage supply chain risks, including alternative sourcing options to protect continuity of supply.
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Quality and other internal stakeholders to meet business requirements.
• Support sourcing projects, tenders and wider procurement initiatives.
