Job summary

DAC Beachcroft LLP in the United Kingdom is seeking a Paralegal - Costs to support document review and disclosure projects. The role involves high-volume, defensible analysis for litigation, regulatory disclosures, DSAR responses, and incident-response contexts.

Based remotely in England and Wales, with the Birmingham office as a base, you’ll work under supervision and develop costs-related skills with opportunities to grow into leadership on large projects.

Qualifications

• Educated to a law degree or equivalent.
• IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Ability to adopt a commercial perspective to legal issues rather than a purely academic approach.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Aligns with the Firm's Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).

Responsibilities

• Review and categorise information with precision (relevance, responsiveness).
• Identify and elevate sensitive or high-risk information.
• Apply redactions in line with legal/regulatory obligations.
• Support multiple layers of review from initial review to quality control.
• Contribute to costs claims up to £100,000 where appropriate.
• Ensure quality control and timely management reporting on own caseload.
• Demonstrate financial management across own files.
• Aim for target chargeable hours (minimum 1,440 per year).
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge through training and publications.
