Job summary

IntaPeople is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA / Unix Administrator to support enterprise Oracle databases and underlying Unix/Linux infrastructure. The role covers backups, patching, performance tuning and day-to-day operational tasks.

You will handle RMAN backups, Data Guard, RAC/ASM environments and work with developers on schema design while ensuring security and availability. Remote role with occasional travel to the South Wales office.

Qualifications

• Solid commercial experience supporting enterprise Oracle databases.
• Experience with RMAN backup and recovery.
• Knowledge of Data Guard, RAC and ASM.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out daily checks across databases, backups, filesystems and tablespaces; identify errors and capacity issues.
• Investigating failed services and database or system issues.
• Managing Oracle backups and recovery using RMAN.
• Performing expdp/impdp schema refreshes including full or data-only refreshes.
• Monitoring and tuning database performance (SQL, long-running processes, SGA/PGA).
• Installing, patching and upgrading Oracle database software and tools.
• Managing database users, roles and security policies.
• Supporting deployments and collaborating with developers on schema design.
• Maintaining and supporting Unix/Linux environments alongside Oracle estate.
• Automating routine tasks with Bash scripting and Windows batch scripting.
