Job summary

Totec, a world-leading industrial gases and engineering company, seeks a Shift Manager for its ROC near Rotherham. You will oversee the safe, continuous operation of the plant 24/7, reporting to Plant Management and leading a control room team.

The role requires experience in process industries, control-room operations, and familiarity with HMI/SCADA/PCS7. Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and integrity are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Education to HNC in electrical, instrumentation, chemical engineering or chemical process.
• Experience in Oil/Gas, Petro-chemical or pharmaceutical environments preferred.
• Experience in control room operation with HMI/SCADA/PCS7 Siemens.
• Knowledge of P&ID, PFD and plant schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot and trend data to identify issues.
• Plant commissioning experience is an advantage.
• Strong relationship management and teamwork in a control room.
• Knowledge of Permit to Work and emergency plans.
• High level of personal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, 24/7 operation and monitoring of the plant.
• Investigate plant disturbances, KPI monitoring and alarm management.
• Manage start-up situations to meet customer demand while minimising cost.
• Conduct plant efficiency evaluations and recommend improvements.
• Ensure operations comply with safety standards and quality initiatives.
• Maintain housekeeping and contribute to site safety management.
• Ensure compliance with site and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with teams to support continuous improvement.
