Tamworth Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic finance professional to lead the Operational Finance team. This home-working role requires two on-site days per month, with a 37-hour week and permanent status.

You will deliver proactive financial support to Members and services, provide high-quality advice, and drive improvements in processes while developing staff in a demanding local authority environment.

Formación

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• AAT qualification and experience of working within local authority finance.
• Proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing staff.
• Ability to build effective working relationships and deliver high-quality outcomes in a demanding environment.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the Operational Finance team in delivering proactive, customer-focused financial support to Members, the Corporate Management Team and service areas.
• Provide high-quality financial advice and guidance to Members and senior staff.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and procedures.
• Oversee procurement, ledger system administration, insurance and risk management, leasing, VAT, creditors and banking services.
• Coach and develop staff and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
