Adecco is hiring a Software Engineer focused on Linux and OpenWRT networking. The role is fully remote within the UK, with a salary advertised between £45,000 and £70,000 plus benefits.

We are seeking an engineer who thrives near the OS, network stack and hardware, delivering secure, scalable solutions across embedded devices and cloud-connected systems. The ideal candidate has strong Linux and networking skills, OpenWRT experience, Go and C programming capabilities, plus a passion for building

Qualifications

• Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• OpenWRT experience including config, deployment or dev.
• Go development experience required.
• Shell scripting proficiency.
• Embedded Linux background (OpenWRT/Yocto/Buildroot/ARM).
• C programming experience needed.
• Strong networking skills: routing, VPN, DNS, DHCP, MTU.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for Linux and OpenWRT networking platforms.
• Enhance embedded and cloud-connected systems.
• Build networking and connectivity solutions.
• Support secure communications technologies.
• Troubleshoot software, networking and hardware issues.
• Develop automation and system tooling.
