Job summary

Masabi, a leader in fare payment technology, is seeking a Legal Counsel to shape terms on major tenders and negotiate complex technology contracts. You’ll work with the General Counsel and senior executives across UK and North America, handling data protection, IP/licensing, and cross-jurisdictional issues.

You’ll draft, negotiate, and close deals spanning SaaS, licensing, services, and partnerships, advising on risk and regulatory matters while collaborating with the CEO, CFO and CPO.

Qualifications

• Holds a law degree and practising certificate; UK/US/Commonwealth qualification.
• Several years in practice since qualifying.
• Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating complex technology contracts, especially SaaS.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on the legal side of major tenders and public procurements, shaping terms.
• Lead negotiation and close of largest customer contracts with cross-functional teams.
• Carry major opportunities from first look to signed contract.
• Draft and negotiate the full commercial range: SaaS, licensing, implementation and services, NDAs, data processing terms, partnerships and resellers.
• Advise on data protection, privacy, IP/licensing and cross-market questions.
• Collaborate with CEO, CFO and CPO to translate legal risk into commercial choices.
• Utilize AI tools as part of how you work and shape their use.
