Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a remote-first studio seeking a Lead Concept Artist to shape stylized game worlds from the United Kingdom. You will guide visual identity, mentor artists, and translate briefs into production-ready concepts across characters, environments, and props.

You will collaborate with art directors and designers to balance artistic vision with gameplay feasibility, maintaining a cohesive style while pushing creative boundaries in a leadership role on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of professional concept art experience in game development.
• Proven lead or senior concept artist with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience contributing to commercially released games.
• Portfolio demonstrating fundamentals, design thinking and storytelling.
• Strong understanding of composition, color, lighting, anatomy, and shape language.
• Ability to maintain cohesive artistic style across asset types.
• Excellent painting, sketching, and concept exploration skills.
• Experience mentoring artists and giving clear feedback.
• Ability to translate briefs into production-ready designs.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept art development for characters, environments, props, and game content.
• Define visual language and artistic direction for cohesive identity.
• Produce production-ready concept designs and paintovers.
• Develop art references, guidelines, and benchmarks for production teams.
• Mentor artists and guide visual exploration within the team.
• Provide actionable feedback to improve design quality.
• Collaborate with Art Directors, Designers, and other specialists.
• Ensure designs meet technical constraints and gameplay clarity.
• Maintain visual consistency from concept to in-game presentation.
• Solve artistic and production challenges through creative problem solving.
