Total Legal Solutions, in partnership with HarKaye Core Talent, invites an experienced Law Costs Draftsman to join a fully remote, growing team. You will manage your workload, draft detailed bills of costs, and oversee costs recoveries with accuracy and professionalism.

The role emphasizes independent work, strong costs law knowledge, and clear communication with clients and solicitors, offering long-term development within a specialist costs practice.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Law Costs Draftsman.
• Strong understanding of costs law, procedure and relevant court rules.
• Experience preparing bills of costs and associated documentation.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed bills of costs for assessment.
• Drafting costs schedules and statements of costs.
• Preparing points of dispute and replies.
• Reviewing files and assessing recoverable costs.
• Managing a varied caseload from instruction through to completion.
• Negotiating costs and supporting the settlement process.
• Working closely with solicitors and other legal professionals.
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Maintaining clear communication with clients throughout each matter.
