Job summary

Total Legal Solutions, in partnership with HarKaye Core Talent, is looking to appoint an experienced Law Costs Draftsman to join its established and growing team in a fully remote role.

The successful candidate will prepare detailed bills of costs, draft costs schedules, review files, and manage a varied workload independently while maintaining excellent client communication. This is a rewarding opportunity within a specialist costs team with genuine scope for long-term development.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Law Costs Draftsman and knowledge of costs law, procedure and court rules.
• Ability to prepare bills of costs and related documentation.
• Strong written communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed bills of costs for assessment.
• Drafting costs schedules and statements of costs.
• Preparing points of dispute and replies.
• Reviewing files and assessing recoverable costs.
• Managing a varied caseload from instruction through to completion.
• Negotiating costs and supporting the settlement process.
• Working closely with solicitors and other legal professionals.
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Maintaining clear communication with clients throughout each matter.
