Michael Page is supporting a large public sector organisation in Liverpool to appoint an Interim Procurement Manager to lead a portfolio of complex healthcare procurement projects.

The role requires strong experience in public sector procurement, ability to influence senior stakeholders, and delivering high-value procurements on tight deadlines. Weekly remote working is offered for a temporary engagement with an initial 3-month term.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading complex public sector procurement exercises.
• Strong understanding of UK public procurement regulations.
• Experience within NHS, healthcare, local government or wider public sector environments.
• Ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships and influence decision-making.
• Proven track record delivering high-value procurements to tight deadlines.
• MCIPS qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of complex, high-value procurement projects.
• Provide expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders and programme leads.
• Manage end-to-end procurement processes in line with relevant legislation and governance requirements.
• Develop sourcing strategies and procurement documentation.
• Drive procurement activity to agreed timescales and project objectives.
• Manage commercial, contractual and procurement risks.
• Work closely with operational, clinical and corporate stakeholders to support service delivery and transformation objectives.
