Job summary

Placements24 in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled Remote Industrial Engineer to optimize logistics and distribution networks from a fully remote setting. You will design and analyze warehousing layouts, inventory control, and transportation strategies to cut costs and improve service levels.

Responsibilities include developing KPIs, collaborating with procurement, manufacturing, and sales, and applying Lean principles to drive continuous improvements across global supply chains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution optimization.
• Proven expertise in supply chain modeling software, WMS, TMS, and data analytics tools.
• Strong understanding of warehousing operations, transportation management, and inventory control principles.
• Excellent remote communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and drive significant operational changes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing logistics and distribution networks, including warehouse layouts, material flow, and transportation routes.
• Develop and implement strategies for inventory management, order fulfillment, and network design to improve service levels and reduce costs.
• Utilize simulation and modeling tools to evaluate the performance of different logistical scenarios and propose enhancements.
• Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, manufacturing, sales) and external partners (carriers, 3PL providers) to ensure seamless operations.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for logistics and distribution, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Implement Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies within the logistics function.
