Job summary

Victim Support is seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to support high-risk victims in Cumbria. The role is homebased with travel across Cumbria and part-time (22.5 hours per week), offering flexible working arrangements.

You will provide advocacy, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning, working with other agencies to help service users access safeguarding services and maintain safety. The role emphasizes multi-agency collaboration and training delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous.
• Ability to prioritise work and manage competing demands while upholding organisation values.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and multi-agency working is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support and advocacy to domestic abuse victims.
• Manage a caseload with risk and need assessment and tailored safety planning.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to enable access to services and safety outcomes.
• Work within a multi-agency framework (including MARAC) to coordinate responses.
• Promote the service and raise awareness through training.
